Home for Diwali....

This was while i was working at Chennai. It was Diwali time and couldnot get tickets on the train. I and my friends decided we could go by bus and alas all the tickets were full and at last by Gods grace we got tickets for a government bus.

We went to the Stand and the bus was the worst I had ever seen.... Geethu and Gow were in a row and myself and Vasu were behind them. Behind us were two guys and they smiled at us while we were trying to get ourselves seated. We both gave a stare because its natural or I am not defending our acts but I do hope its usual.

The bus started and we had a terrifying journey, bumps across the roads and the sound of the metals when the bus runs into the gutters of the road....eeeks. I think we both were fast asleep and it was raining heavily, a drop of water fell on my arm, opened my eyes could find out it was raining hard outside, asked Vasu to close the window tight, she told me she too felt the same but on her left arm.

We then tried to close our eye and suddenly we could feel as if we were standing under a shower.........alas the bus had a leaky ceiling, the rain showering blissfully upon us...........

We jumped out of our seats dint know what to do, suddenly one of the guys at our back row called us and asked if we were having bubble gums with us, I nodded no (inside my mind I was wondering what on hell does he need a bubble gum for). He told if you do have bubble gums, paste it on the hole at the top. The hole was not too large and after some time the bus halted for dinner. the first thing that we did wa getting bubble gums. we came back to our seats there was a total of 8 bubble gums 2 for each, asked everyone to chew, and hand it over, we started sticking it to the ceiling.........some were passing weird look upon me as I was doing the sticking part. This technique worked for some time, but when the fall of water was heavy, the bubble gum came down, and before reaching Nagercoil we had all the eight bubble gum sticked firmly to the top............... It was all fun for us the whole night having a rain bath on a running bus and sticking bubble gums all over the ceiling............:D
